Dance of Death
1493. Milan, Civica Raccolta delle

More mobile than the fresco versions this Dance of Death is an engraving and was more mobile than the paintings in church. The skeletons are interacting with people and in everyday compositions. Pieces like this and by Hans Holbein demonstrate a more whimsical approach. The prints were more accessible to the masses.

More so they demonstrate the understanding of all people. That all classes must "dance to the pipe."
